Secret Disk is a simple-to-use program that enables you to create additional local drives that can be hidden from prying eyes with a password. This way, you can conceal private documents and sensitive files you don't want anyone else to access.
The interface consists of a regular window with a clean structure, where a program PIN must be set at initialization to gain access to Secret Disk's options. This step cannot be skipped and, in fact, it shouldn't be skipped, since it provides additional security for the virtual drives created with Secret Disk.
A new drive can be created with or without a password. When Secret Disk is open, you can set the drive's status to visible or invisible mode. Also, you can change the password or remove it completely, assign a custom name to your new file repository, and set the disk to automatically open at system startup.
Unfortunately, the unregistered edition allows the creation of a single drive, but this is more than enough for you to experiment with the application and see what it is capable of. Deleting this file repository is possible only when uninstalling Secret Disk.
Although you have the possibility of writing a particular drive label, Secret Disk does not record this information. Instead, it assigns the name of the operating system.
Secret Disk does not put a strain on system resources since it runs on a low amount of CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and does not cause the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We were able to work with the new drive as if it were a native Windows drive and no other problems ocurred during our tests.
