While most users are probably accustomed to the ribbon interface of Microsoft Word, there are still plenty out there who get their heads around the completely different way of showing the most used options.
As the name suggests, Classic Menu for Word is a small adding designed to bring back the menus you used for many years and consequentially, help you make the most out of the text editor.
Following a quick and uneventful installation, you are welcomed by a window where you can customize the appearance of Word. For starters, you can specify whether you want the Classic Menu displayed and if you prefer the Menus tab to be located on the left of the Home tab for easier access.
Depending on your needs and working style, the utility allows you to hide several built-in tabs, so that you access the functions you are working with faster. Among the tabs that can be removed from the GUI you can count Home, Insert, Design, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review, View and Developer.
It is worth mentioning that even though you can work with the menus you grew fond of over the years, that does not remove the ribbon from Word. In fact, both of them are displayed at the same time with the difference that you can access everything you need to write and edit texts from the Classic Menus alone.
Nevertheless, the ribbon does not affect your workflow in any way, especially since you can find and run the functions you need from the new dedicated menu.
In the eventuality that you are required to manage dozens of documents in Microsoft's text editor on a regular basis, but you feel that you are slowed down by the fact that you cannot find the tools you need in a timely manner, then perhaps Classic Menu for Word could come in handy.
