Sometimes, the inevitable happens and your computer needs a hard disk format or, even worse, you’re faced with a hardware failure. In order to prevent losing your entire data collection, you should start creating backups.
FBackup is an application designed to help you backup your personal files and protect them. These can be saved on your hard drives or on your local network. By accessing the app’s “Properties”, you can also choose to save your files to an external hard drive or a removable device.
In order to create a new backup, you must choose a name and a path for the files. Then, you must choose the files and folders you want to create a backup of, as well as set up filters. If you want, you can have the app clear up all the temporary files before creating the backup. Additional filters can be defined from the “Properties” frame.
FBackup allows you to create a full copy or only create a mirror for your files. Furthermore, you can encrypt the data and add a password. This means that only you restore your backups.
The software further allows you to define how often the backup is refreshed. You can do it daily, weekly, monthly, or only do it manually. If the case applies, you can also choose the day and hour. After all the settings are made, you only need to press the “Backup” button on the main interface.
All jobs can be tested for errors. Restoring the files can be done to the original location or to any other directory of your choice. You can also define how this process works.
Note that the program encompasses a series of extra features that can, however, be accessed only in Backup4all, which can also be downloaded from Softpedia. Cloud backup, FTP backup, restoring a selected version of a file, incremental and differential backups are just a few of the highlights, with the complete list including much more goodies.
All in all, FBackup is an advanced tool that can be figured out easily by all users, no matter how experienced, thanks to the intuitive interface.
