Free Registry Fix is a simple utility tool which enables you to detect and repair errors in the Windows registry.
The interface of the application is simplistic and intuitive. Upon initialization, Free Registry Fix automatically performs a scan.
So, the tool looks for issues in ActiveX, OLE and COM areas, Windows file extensions, user and system software settings, shared DLLs and startup sections.
But it also takes care of sound and app events, uninstall, font and help sections, application paths, broken files, shared folders and invalid shortcuts.
Once the scanning finishes, you can check out the specific type of problem found in each of these categories, as well as their reference key and level of severity.
In addition to scanning and fixing the registry, you can create and print a report, create and restore backups, as well as access Registry Editor.
The program runs on a moderate amount of system resources and may take a while to finish a complete scan (but it is thorough). We haven't encountered any kind of problems while we were testing Free Registry Fix.
However, there is no "Settings" menu or something similar which allows you to select what type of registry keys you want Free Registry Fix to verify. In a similar manner, you cannot specify which particular problems you want it to fix (and this is a real issue, since the demo version allows you to fix a limited number of errors).
All in all, Free Registry Fix looks promising but its features need to be more customizable. We can only suggest you take a look and make your own evaluation, since we're not completely convinced.
