Sure enough, the regular method of viewing an email message is through the corresponding client, but messages can also be stored in files you can manipulate. For instance, Outlook stores its items under the MSG file format, and if you want or need to view them in IBM Notes, then you might want to use Jagware MSG to NSF Wizard.
The application takes little time to install, requiring little effort on your behalf. Apart from the files you wish to convert, there’s another dependency, namely IBM Notes. It needs to be on your computer for the conversion process to successfully reach an end. Input has nothing to do with Outlook itself, so the MSG files are enough.
On the bright side of things, Jagware MSG to NSF Wizard makes it possible to convert multiple files at a time. You load them through the browse dialog, which is used to select one or more files, or the content of an entire folder. One last thing which needs to be set is the destination.
The result is delivered as a stand-alone file instead of directly opening IBM Notes up with the converted emails. However, since NSF files are associated, a simple double-click operation is enough to have them opened in a new tab to be viewed as any other regular message.
Note, however, that the overall process is pretty straightforward. In other words, selecting custom content from the MSG file needs to be done through other methods, because the entire file is converted. On the bright side of things, directory structures and metadata are kept intact, but also embedded attachments.
Bottom line is that you bump into email messages more or less on a daily basis, and it’s pretty good to be able to read them in your preferred client. Even though conversion is sometimes required, the likes of Jagware MSG to NSF Wizard makes the whole operation a walk in the park for individuals of all levels of experience.
