PowerPaint is a simple-to-use graphic editing tool that aims to replace the Paint application found in Windows.
The interface of the program is similar to the one of Paint, so you shouldn't have any problems in getting around its features. Images can be imported by using either the file browser or the "drag and drop" method.
So, you can use basic painting tools, such as background color, text, auto fill, eraser, line, round rectangle, line width, gradient brush and full color.
But you can also use the undo function, insert pictures and graphs (e.g. lines, basic shapes and arrows), and change the line start cap.
In addition, you can make image adjustments when it comes to the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and color tone, as well as cut, scale, flip, rotate or mirror the image.
On top of that, you can apply various filters which include art (e.g. noise, oil paint, emboss), distort (e.g. shift, lens, wind), light (blinds), color (e.g. halftone, solarize), video, frames and others. Plus, you can preview changes before applying them.
The simplistic graphic editing tool runs on a moderate-to-high amount of system resources, supports several skins and languages for the interface, is pretty stable and didn't freeze or crash during our tests. We strongly recommend PowerPaint to all users who are looking for an alternative to Windows' Paint.
