Flv Recorder is a tool that allows you to capture Flash Video files which are streamed through the HTTP or RTMP protocol. But it can also play these items.
The interface of the software app is plain and uncomplicated. Starting a recording session can be seamlessly done, with the click of a button. Captured stream is automatically displayed in a list; you can check out the name, received size, as well as the total size of the Flash Video files.
Flv Recorder allows you to create a playlist from recordings and other FLV items from your hard drive, as well as to preview clips in a built-in media player, navigate back and forth within the clip, make image adjustments (e.g. brightness, contrast), and switch to full screen mode.
From the 'Options' screen, you may modify the default video location, make the app record SWF files, associate it with the FLV format, integrate Flv Recorder into the Explorer context menu, as well as clear the Internet Explorer cache.
The video recording tool has a good response time, includes online user documentation, and did not cause us any difficulties throughout our testing, such as making the operating system freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs.
On the downside, the interface could use some improvements, from the visual point of view. Also, you cannot make the tool schedule tasks or open the output directory after the recordings have been made. But we must keep in mind the fact that Flv Recorder has not been updated for quite some time.
