AVS Video to BlackBerry is a program with a pretty self-explanatory name - it allows you to prepare video clips (e.g. 3GP, ASF, AVI, MOV, MKV, FLV) for BlackBerry devices.
The interface of the program is based on a standard window. Video clips can be imported into the file queue by using either the file browser or tree view. Unfortunately, you cannot process more than one item at the same time.
So, you can check out the source path of the video, after which you can specify the output directory to initialize the conversion task with the default settings.
Advanced users can select the audio track, subtitle, maximum file size (if you want to split videos by size) and quality. Additionally, you can preview clips in a small, built-in media player and trim them by marking the start and end position, as well as set an output filename.
During the encoding task, you can preview clips and set AVS Video to BlackBerry to automatically power off the computer when it finishes. Plus, you can upload converted videos to your BlackBerry as soon as the task is completed.
The video conversion tool requires a high amount of system CPU and memory to finish a task in reasonable time. It is very responsive and includes a help file. No error dialogs have been displayed throughout our tests and AVS Video to BlackBerry did not freeze or crash. The output videos have a good image and sound quality.
On the downside, the fact that batch processing is unsupported is a big disadvantage. You cannot customize the number of CPU cores to be used or set AVS Video to BlackBerry to open the output directory after conversion. No recent updates have been made.
